Fun and Fellowship Day report

IT WAS A GOOD DAY.  HAD A GOOD BUNCH OF HAMs (17) AND A COUPLE OF NON-HAMs JOIN US.  I THINK THE STORMS THE NIGHT BEFORE AND THE COOLER WEATHER LIMITED ATTENDANCE.  I MET SOME OLD FRIENDS AND MADE A COUPLE OF NEW ONES AS I AM SURE ALL THAT ATTENDED DID AS WELL.  THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.  WE SETUP A HF RIG AND MADE A FEW CONTACTS.  IT WAS ALSO A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR OUR CLUB ON HOW TO IMPROVE AND PLAN FOR NEXT YEAR.  NEXT YEAR IT WILL BE ON THE FIRST SATURDAY IN NOVEMBER, SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS.  IF ANYONE HAS SUGGESTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR, LET ME HEAR FROM YOU.  THIS EVENT IS ABOUT AND FOR YOU.

I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO HELPED ME UNPACK AND REPACK MY TRUCK AND THOSE THAT SET UP THE HF RIG.

YA’ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY.

ADARC was formed in the 1960’s by local amateur radio operators for camaraderie, to help promote interest in the hobby with local individuals/communities, and to also promote the community services that ham radio can provide.

The repeater, KE5FSY is located on top of Petit Jean mountian, in Conway County. The frequency is 146.865 Mhz with a standard “minus” offset. Tone access for the repeater is 141.3.

The repeater is also used for Skywarn weather spotting activities in Conway County.

If you are interested in being part of ARES/RACES, weather spotting, or just becoming a licensed amateur radio operator to join these great community services, or just the hobby itself, contact ADARC or any of it’s members for further information to help you get started.

ADARC Membership is open to all licensed amateurs in and around Conway County. Membership dues/donations are due every January to gain or maintain membership status.
The dues help cover insurance costs for the repeater system, and it’s related fees.

If you would like more information, or have any questions about ADARC, feel free to drop us an email, and we will gladly respond to answer your comments & questions.
